Men of Habit: Jim Shay

Not too long ago we met Jim Shay during our first visit to the beautiful Isaia showroom in New York City. He immediately charmed up with his love of  Italian culture and handmade clothing–not to mention an encyclopedic knowledge of his own product. Given his expertise, we relished the chance to pick the Isaia VP’s mind on his personal style and passions.

How would you describe your style?
Only other people describe a persons style.
What’s the one piece of your wardrobe you couldn’t do without?
It has to be my sportcoats – I need somewhere to put all my stuff.
What’s the one style rule you always follow?
No socks in the summer.
Who has influenced your style most in life?
My career.
Favorite place to shop?
The Ralph Pucci showroom for furniture and ISAIA showroom for the rest. (perk of the job)

What cologne do you wear (if any)?
I don’t.
Favorite place to eat?
How much time do you have?  Meet me at Le Bilboquet for cajun chicken and we will discuss.
My drink is…
Vodka straight up with squeeze of lime.
If I weren’t enjoying life at 42…
I would be enjoying life at 55 and smiling back at my 42 year old self.
When I’m not working, I’m…
Spending time with my son (he is the man) and my friends!

Please, could anyone identify the brand and model of the wristwatch. Is it an IWC? If so, wich model?

    Thanks.

I guess it could be a silver-plated Portuguese Chrono… any thoughts?
