Looking Ahead: Ovadia & Sons F/W 2011
Twins Ariel and Shimon Ovadia will launch one of the most anticipated collections of the season. With high-end classically tailored suiting, confident dress shirts, and seasonal footwear that caters to a slim, masculine silhouette, Ovadia & Sons is all the buzz in the world of luxury menswear.
The 27 year-old twins have crafted items to the highest of standards, using fabric from the same houses as Ralph Lauren Purple Label. Everything looks and feels high quality, and most importantly authentic. Indeed, the duo has cultivated a brilliantly unique aesthetic that’s part Italian sprezzatura, part businessman, part go-to-hell prep.
And while the unique colors and designs are certainly catchy, the emphasis is decidedly on the tailoring. Pants, for example, are quite tapered relative to the goods from other trouser makers, but what you find is that they fit just how you’ve always longed for your bottoms to fit. The brothers tell us that men complained to them frequently about poor fitting pants, and that’s when they decided to put just as much attention to their pants as to anything else — which may be more than the competition can say.
Their Fall ’11 line is highly wearable. Rakish shirting in bold checks and stripes with spread and cutaway collars cater to a man who wants to look a bit aggressive. Ties in plaids and solid wools draw classic appeal. Quality boots and monk strap shoes further cultivate the cosmopolitan and gentlemanly aesthetic that Shimon and Ariel have created.
For this season, you can tell quite clearly that they have let the Italian side of their influence gain control. But the brand is also inspired by the Ovadia family’s 25 year plus history in the fashion industry. This venture is just an embodiment of the looks that these two Brooklyn-raised brother have come to love.
It’s a brand for a serious man with a little bit of flair; it’s clothing that reflects a person who is excited about dressing, but refined and intelligent in his choices.

I recently learned about Ovadia & Sons and have found their product offerings to be very impressive. I run a custom clothing business in the southeast and I am always in search of stores/boutiques that have product offerings with a flair. I hope to visit their haute soon. Regards!
