Fall Essentials: The Striped Scarf
Now that fall is upon us, it’s time to start thinking about what pieces of your wardrobe will be most essential. To help you guys figure this out, the Men of Habit team worked with photographer/blogger F.E. Castleberry of Unabashedly Prep on a series of educational posts. Every day this week, we’ll be breaking down a different essential piece for fall starting with the striped scarf. While some might think that an accessory shouldn’t be thought of as an “essential,” we’d beg to differ. A wool or cashmere scarf is one of the most necessary pieces in the cooler months because of its ability to increase your body temperature that extra bit. It is key during those times when it’s too warm for a jacket, but too cool for a simple shirt, and you’ll be very happy you have one when we start getting into the snow-filled months.
In the shot above, we opted for a beautiful wool scarf from Phineas Cole that has all of the University appeal, but with a smart color palette that adds a bit of downtown cool to your look. The subtle green plays off of the sport coat, while the red adds a nice little pop against the darker background. It’s similar to what your father was wearing 30 years ago, but it still has the perfect modern appeal. In addition to color, it adds different texture and pattern to your outfit. So if you don’t have a striped scarf already, make sure to invest in something that works well with your personal style and budget–then wear it often. It won’t be long before you realize what a good decision the purchase was.

I absolutely agree! I’m a scarf nut, I even have linen one for those colder spring nights. There is nothing like the comfort of a warm neck, it sean to sooth the temperature throughout your hole body.
Maybe in the coming post you could a post in how to tie them. I have like 5 different ways…
Where can I find that scarf? My brother would LOVE it. Perfect gift option. Its not on the Paul Stuart website. Any idea?
Great looks. Who makes that turtleneck in the first picture?
